If I notice water leaking from the pod holder when brewing coffee, what should I do?
Check that the extraction chamber is correctly closed and that the lever is locked in the closed position. Also check that the gasket at the top of the extraction chamber is intact and in good condition.
Why is the lever too hard to close?
You may have inserted the pod incorrectly. Make sure it is correctly positioned on the steel saucer before closing the lever.
I can't find the switch on the back of the machine, how do I turn it on?
The Bluemoon switches on automatically as soon as you plug it in. The luminous ring under the control display will light up, as will the Caffè Borbone logo, giving off a steady light, while the LEDs on the coffee and hot water dispensing buttons will start flashing, signalling that the machine is warming up to operating temperature. When the buttons emit a steady light, the machine is ready to brew coffee.
I forgot to remove the pod after dispensing and it stuck: what do I do?
Do not try to remove it by force! Draw water for about 3 seconds: the pod will detach itself without any problems.
The button LEDs flash and do not respond when I try to dispense coffee or hot water: what does this mean?
The Bluemoon machine is equipped with an electronic system that allows it to switch itself off in the event of inactivity, eliminating electricity consumption. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the machine will go into stand-by mode. This state will be signalled by the lights on the buttons and the ring under the display of the controls, which will switch off, while the Caffè Borbone logo will fade at 12-second intervals.
I removed the pod holder from the extraction chamber to dispense hot water, but immediately afterwards the button LEDs started flashing. What does this mean?
If the drip tray or the hot water dispenser are not properly inserted in the extraction chamber, the machine is unable to start dispensing. In such cases, all display lights, including the button LEDs, start flashing and the controls are not functional. Make sure that all components are correctly positioned before using the machine.
Can I use the pod holder to dispense hot water?
Yes, it is possible, but it is not recommended in order to avoid contamination of the water by coffee or residues from other pod drinks. We recommend using the blue spout located in the compartment above the reservoir.
Can I wash the tank with an abrasive sponge?
We strongly advise against doing this, because the tank is transparent and you could scratch it, spoiling its appearance. Instead, use an anti-scale product and a soft sponge for cleaning.
